常規(guī)單詞積累一定要集中在2016考研復(fù)習(xí)的前期，否則后面無論閱讀復(fù)習(xí)還是翻譯復(fù)習(xí)的開展都會(huì)有困難。同時(shí)，單詞記憶不能只記中文釋義，要掌握其常見用法，固定搭配，并且在能力范圍內(nèi)利用詞根觸類旁通。
★indicative
a.(of)指示的，暗示的
【例】Their failure to act is indicative of their lack of interest.他們沒采取行動(dòng)，表明他們對(duì)這個(gè)問題不感興趣。
【派生】indicate v.指示，表示，暗示indication n.指示，記號(hào)indicator n.指示者，指針，指示牌
★interpret
v.解釋，說明；口譯
【例1】The pitfall is that the results will be difficult to interpret.困難在于試驗(yàn)的結(jié)果將是難以解釋的。
【例2】The role of the historian is less to discover and catalog document than to interpret and explain them.歷史學(xué)家在發(fā)現(xiàn)并給文獻(xiàn)編目方面的作用不及在翻譯并解釋文獻(xiàn)方面的作用。
【構(gòu)詞】inter-（在……間）+pret→在兩種語(yǔ)言之間溝通→口譯
【同義替換】explain, translate

★mercy
n.仁慈，憐憫，寬恕

【例2】The chess-player conceded the game when he saw that his position was hopeless.棋手看出自己陷入絕境，就承認(rèn)那局他輸了。
【構(gòu)詞】con-+cede（割讓）→讓出去→讓步
【同義替換】admit, recognize, acknowledge; yield, compromise
【派生】concededly a.無可爭(zhēng)辯地，毫無疑問地
★condense
v.（使）冷凝，（使）凝結(jié)；濃縮，壓縮
【例1】The drop in temperature condensed the steam to water.溫度下降使蒸汽凝結(jié)成了水。
【例2】The report was condensed into a summary.這篇報(bào)道被精簡(jiǎn)成了一篇摘要。
【構(gòu)詞】con-+dense（密集的）→變得密集的→壓縮，凝結(jié)
【同義替換】coagulate, condensate; concentrate, compress
【派生】condensation n.壓縮，凝結(jié)condensed a.壓縮的
